virtual assistantAre you so busy that you’re feeling a little stressed and wondering how to keep up with demand?  Not knowing how you are going to get everything done and keep your customers and clients happy?  Do you wish you could outsource some of the work but are so busy you can’t find the time to do it?

It’s a difficult position to be in.  You know you need the help but also can’t let anything drop to spend the time to decide what you want to outsource, who you are going to give it to and doing a handover.  You are too busy to outsource.

But actually you’re not

Yes you have all this work that needs to be done and you can’t take your eye off the ball.  But, if you could spend an hour handing it over to someone and they then take 3 hours’ worth of work off your hands, you have already gained back 2 hours of your time!

Focus on the benefits

It is easy to get caught up in the pressure of needing to get everything done, but think about the bigger picture and the benefits that will come with outsourcing.  The most important one, you will free up your time to focus on other tasks and projects.

Take control, take action

Once you’ve decided that you need to take back control and need to take action, create a plan.  Do you already have someone in mind you can outsource to?  Can you ask for recommendations from your network?  What do you want to outsource?  Do a brain dump and put everything on a piece of paper that you need to do.  Are you going to write some instructions or do a handover session?  Get clear on what you need to do and put steps in place to take action.

Keep it small and simple

Look at initially passing the small, mundane tasks that don’t need a lot of explanation.  This will give you some relief and leeway to plan what else you can hand over.
